The Last Word

First time I tasted this was in the PX speakeasy in Alexandria and I knew I needed to have more; which is what I've been doing a little too much of really...

Equal parts gin, green Chartreuse, maraschino liqueur and fresh lime juice shaken in a shaker with ice. Change the gin for vodka, tequila, or mescal and a whole new drink is poured. Easy peasy lime squeezy.

House of Friends

House of Restlessness more like. It was a wet day or a snow day or something - definitely a day when we were stuck inside and we needed to release some energy with the kid.

1.5 oz Tequila blanco
1/4 oz Yellow Chartreuse
1/4 oz Cointreau
1oz Agave Nectar
1 oz Fresh squeezed lime juice

Add all ingredients to shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously, and strain into a cocktail glass. Got the recipe here.

Catcher in the Rye

It's baseball season. Should you tire of the beer and hot dog, try one of these.

1 1/2 oz Sazerac rye whiskey
1 oz yellow Chartreuse
1 oz fresh lime juice
Dash of agave nectar
Little lime twist for garnish

Shake all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and serve well chilled. Now play ball.

The Danger Is in Maryland

With Danger herself in town we knew we had to come up with a suitable beverage to clink glasses and this cherry ginger concoction is what we came up with. Initially, when we thought danger we thought of setting something on fire in sambucca style but opted for something potent instead - like moonshine (the nearest we could get to poteen in these parts).

In a glass muddle 3 soaked in Midnight moonshine cherries

In a cocktail shaker with ice mix:
1 oz gin
1/2 oz kirchwasser
1 oz yellow chartreuse
1/2 oz Midnight moonshine
Juice 1/2 a lemon
1/2 oz agave syrup

Pour into the glass over the cherries and top with lashings of ginger beer.

Don't make any plans for the rest of the night.
